Zelensky: Foreign troops on Ukrainian territory can prevent further escalation

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy supports the deployment of foreign troops in his country directly on the contact line with Russia, which, according to him, would reduce the risk of Russia resuming hostilities.
Zelenskyy stated this in an interview with CNN.
"The deployment of foreign troops on the contact line would make it very dangerous for Russia to start a new war. They are afraid of support forces, bases, and international representatives," Zelenskyy said.
The Ukrainian leader believes that US President Donald Trump, Chinese President Xi Jinping, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and other influential world leaders should tell Russian President Vladimir Putin that "he must stop this war."
"I'm not forcing anyone to choose sides. But the point is that if we want to end the war, we must tell Putin he's wrong. I'm not sure that dialogues built on compromise work," he explained.
