WUF13 Azerbaijan Operations Company announces the work carried out in preparation for the event

The 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), which will be held in Baku on 17–22 May next year, is an important international event that brings together global policy dialogue on sustainable urban development, as well as the exchange of knowledge and best practices, Eldar Rasulov, Media Relations Manager of the WUF13 Azerbaijan Operations Company, told journalists, The Daily Baku reports.

He noted that the WUF13 session is one of the most prestigious international platforms jointly organized by the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) and the Government of Azerbaijan: “Alongside being an important stage of the global urban agenda, WUF13 is a significant international event that brings together global policy dialogue on sustainable urban development, as well as the exchange of knowledge and best practices. For the first time, the Forum will be held in the Caspian and South Caucasus region, and around 10,000 international participants and a total of approximately 30,000 attendees are expected.”

Rasulov emphasized that, unlike previous WUF events, this Forum will be held with the participation of numerous heads of state and government: “Within the framework of the event, 40 main sessions and 350 partner events will be organized. The main sessions of the Forum will be provided with simultaneous translation into eight languages, including sign language. To ensure the high-level organization of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum, the WUF13 Azerbaijan Operations Company began its activities on June 30, 2025. In a short period, comprehensive work has been carried out in institutional preparedness, venue infrastructure planning, operations management, transport, marketing, and communications.

Forming a professional team is one of the key priorities for the successful organization of an event of this scale. At present, a workforce of nearly 300 employees has been formed. The majority of the staff involved are professional specialists with experience in organizing international events.”
