Washington cuts healthcare funding for Democrat controlled states

The US administration plans to reduce healthcare funding in four states led by Democrats. The decision affects California, Minnesota, Illinois, and Colorado, with total cuts amounting to approximately 600 million dollars.
The Daily Baku reports that this was reported by Bloomberg.
According to sources familiar with the matter, the Department of Health and Human Services will begin implementing the budget restrictions later this week.
The agency explained that the grants do not align with the current administration’s policy priorities. The cuts concern the Public Health Infrastructure Grants program launched during the presidency of Joe Biden. These funds were distributed through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and were used to modernize data systems.
Programs affected by the cuts also include efforts to combat HIV and sexually transmitted infections. The appointment of the new Secretary of Health and Human Services, Robert Kennedy Jr., has led to a number of changes in this area. In addition to funding reductions, staffing cuts have also taken place within the relevant departments.
