Volodymyr Zelenskyy: Ukraine and NATO are preparing updates on the PURL initiative

Ukraine and NATO are preparing updates to the PURL initiative aimed at strengthening air defense.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy wrote about this on X following a phone conversation with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.
“We spoke with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte about protecting our airspace, the PURL initiative, which enables us to receive missiles for Patriot systems, as well as key security challenges currently facing the entire world,” he wrote.
According to Zelenskyy, the sides coordinated their efforts and confirmed the importance of mutual support.
“Strengthening air defense is our top priority, and people’s lives must be protected. We are preparing updates on the PURL initiative. Thanks to everyone who is helping!” he emphasized.
PURL (Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List) is a U.S. and NATO initiative that enables Ukraine to receive critically needed weapons through targeted financing of U.S. defense supplies.
