Volodymyr Zelenskyy expects the first payment from the new EU aid package

Ukraine hopes to receive the first tranche of financial assistance in May–June under the European Union’s €90 billion support package.
According to The Daily Baku, this was stated by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, on the social network "X".
“The EU’s €90 billion loan package to support Ukraine has been unblocked. The funds will be directed toward weapons production, the purchase of essential weapons from partners that we do not yet produce domestically, and preparing our energy sector and critical infrastructure for the next winter,” he wrote.
Zelenskyy also added that further steps to increase sanctions pressure on Russia are being discussed at the informal EU summit in Cyprus. “The 20th package has been unblocked, and it should be followed by additional sanctions,” he emphasized.
