Venezuela and the United States discuss bilateral agenda

The Venezuelan president’s authorised representative Delcy Rodríguez and the US chargé d’affaires for Venezuela Laura Dogu discussed items on the bilateral agenda and the resumption of the work of the two countries’ diplomatic missions during a meeting in Caracas.
According to The Daily Baku, Venezuela’s foreign minister Yván Gil Pinto announced this during a broadcast on Venezolana de Televisión.
“At the meeting, Rodríguez and Dogu discussed issues on the common agenda, primarily energy, economic, trade and political matters,” Gil said.
He added that the establishment of a US diplomatic mission in Venezuela, headed by Dogu, as well as a Venezuelan diplomatic mission in Washington, was reviewed. “The authorised representative of the president has appointed Ambassador Felix Plasencia as Venezuela’s diplomatic representative to the United States,” the foreign minister noted.
Gil said the Venezuelan government hopes for the peaceful and respectful development of relations with the United States, based on international law, the UN Charter and the sovereignty of states.
