Vance: The U.S. offers Iran integration into the global economy in exchange for abandoning nuclear weapons

The United States is offering Iran a chance to “become part of the global economy” in exchange for an unconditional renunciation of the development of nuclear weapons.
Said U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance while speaking at a forum at Georgia State University.
“This is exactly the kind of exchange he is proposing [to Iran],” Vance said, referring to U.S. President Donald Trump. “We intend to continue negotiations and work toward implementing this plan, as it would be an excellent outcome for peace, for our country, and for everyone. Therefore, I will do everything in my power to make it a reality.”
According to Vance, Washington intends to continue the negotiation process with Tehran and believes that the Iranian side is interested in reaching an agreement.
“This issue cannot be resolved overnight. However, yes, I believe that our counterparts at the negotiating table are seeking to reach a deal. And I know that the President of the United States has instructed us to conduct the dialogue in good faith. That is exactly what we have done, and that is how we intend to proceed,” Vance said.
At the same time, the U.S. Vice President noted that “significant progress” had been made during the talks with Iran in Pakistan.
It should be recalled that on February 28, the United States and Israel launched military operations against Iran, carrying out airstrikes on several cities. On the same day, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was killed as a result of the strikes.
In response, Iran launched missile strikes on Israeli territory and attacked U.S. military bases in the Gulf countries.
Iran, the United States, and their allies reached an agreement on a two week ceasefire on the night of April 8, 2026.
On April 11 to 12, talks between Iran and the United States were held in Islamabad with Pakistan acting as mediator. The lengthy discussions ended without reaching an agreement.
