US State Department representatives to visit Georgia in May

Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Bochorishvili announced that representatives of the US State Department will visit the country in May.
The minister spoke about this in the "Topic of the Day" program of Channel One.
According to him, intensive consultations have been held with the US side recently and concrete steps are already being observed. As part of the visit, American representatives are scheduled to meet not only with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, but also with various structures of the Georgian government.
Bochorishvili noted that in recent months, mutual visits have taken place between Washington and Tbilisi, as well as high-level telephone conversations, which indicate progress in relations. According to him, the meetings to be held in May can be considered a continuation of the initial stage of consultations.
The minister added that there is a high level of political will to restore relations with the US and daily communication continues.
"There is a possibility of resuming strategic cooperation. The success of this process depends on the level of desire of both Georgia and the United States to develop relations. Contacts so far show that this desire exists and we expect more positive dynamics," Bochorishvili emphasized.
