US extends a number of anti-Russian sanctions for a year

US President Donald Trump has extended for one year certain sanctions against Russia imposed due to Moscow's interference in US elections and its full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

This was announced in a notice published in the Federal Register of Official US Government Documents.

It is noted that Russia's activities pose an unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security, foreign policy, and economy of the United States. "For this reason, the sanctions emergency declared by Executive Order 14024 is intended to remain in effect beyond April 15, 2026," the statement reads.
