Venezuela’s vice president Delcy Rodríguez, had been sworn in as president, US President Donald Trump said at briefing, The Daily Baku reports.

Trump stated that State Secretary Marco Rubio spoke at length with Rodriguez and that she agreed to let the United States run the country. He said the State Department, Pentagon, and other agencies would form a team to oversee governance and stabilization efforts.

Trump also said U.S. companies would play a major role in rebuilding Venezuela’s oil industry.
