U.S. President Donald Trump has expressed support for Prime Minister Viktor Orban ahead of Hungary’s upcoming parliamentary elections.

He made the statement in a post on his Truth Social account.

Trump described Orban as a strong leader who delivers results.

“Viktor has worked hard to protect Hungary, ensure economic growth, create jobs, expand trade, combat illegal migration, and maintain law and order. Relations between Hungary and the United States reached new heights of cooperation during my administration, and a large part of that is thanks to Prime Minister Orban,” he noted.

“I was proud to support Viktor when he ran for re-election in 2022, and I consider it an honor to do so again,” Trump added, calling on Hungarian voters to support Orban.

“I am with him all the way,” the U.S. President stressed.

Hungary’s parliamentary elections are scheduled for April 12. The ruling Fidesz–Hungarian Civic Alliance party is engaged in a tense race with the opposition Tisa party, which is said to have the backing of the EU leadership.
