Tourist inflow to Azerbaijan from European countries increased by more than 17%

In January–February of this year, 27,174 tourists from European countries visited Azerbaijan.
This is 17.3% more compared to the same period last year.
During the reporting period, 12,878 tourists arrived in Azerbaijan from Eastern European countries, which is 3.3% more than a year earlier.
Among Eastern European countries, the largest number of tourists came from Ukraine – 4,839 people, which is 0.8% less compared to the same period last year.
In addition, 2,686 tourists came from Belarus (down 7.4%), 1,291 from Poland (up 34.3%), 627 from Moldova (up 3.8%), 539 from Hungary (up 47.3%), 477 from the Czech Republic (up 3.2%), 408 from Lithuania (up 39.2%), 380 from Romania (down 10.6%), 306 from Serbia (up 1.7%), 251 from Slovakia (up 23.6%), 200 from Estonia (up 7.5%), 193 from Croatia (up 75.5%), 190 from Latvia (up 8.6%), 187 from Bulgaria (down 21.4%), 78 from Bosnia and Herzegovina (up 27.9%), 62 from Cyprus (up 51.2%), 68 from Slovenia (down 6.8%), 35 from Montenegro (down 65%), 35 from North Macedonia (down 25.5%), and 26 from Albania (down 29.7%).
Over the two-month period, 14,296 tourists arrived in Azerbaijan from Western European countries, which is 33.5% more compared to the same period last year.
Among Western European countries, the largest number of tourists came from the United Kingdom – 4,231 people, which is an increase of 46.3% year-on-year.
In addition, 3,326 tourists came from Germany (up 88.4%), 1,952 from Italy (up 21.8%), 1,026 from France (up 24.4%), 718 from Spain (down 15.5%), 528 from the Netherlands (down 13%), 426 from Belgium (up 42%), 321 from Portugal (up 21.6%), 281 from Sweden (up 20.6%), 265 from Switzerland (up 17.8%), 263 from Austria (up 3.1%), 242 from Greece (up 7.1%), 224 from Ireland (up 12.6%), 167 from Norway (up 18.4%), 148 from Denmark (up 11.2%), 57 from Malta (up 96.6%), 46 from Finland (down 48.9%), 46 from Luxembourg (down 11.5%), 27 from Iceland (up 80%), and 2 from Andorra (down 50%).
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan was visited by 337,300 foreign citizens from 163 countries, which is 0.4% less compared to the same period last year.
