The UN Resident Coordinator was briefed on preparations for WUF13 in Azerbaijan

The newly appointed UN Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan, Igor Garafulich, was briefed on preparations for the World Urban Forum (WUF13).

As reported by The Daily Baku, Anar Guliyev, Chairman of the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture of Azerbaijan, announced this on his social media page.

"Today, we held a productive meeting with the recently appointed UN Resident Coordinator a.i. in Azerbaijan, Igor Karafulich.

We briefed Mr. Karafulich on Azerbaijan's national priorities and the progress achieved in post-conflict recovery and reconstruction in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

We also provided him with detailed information about the declaration of 2026 as the Year of Urban Planning and Architecture in our country, as well as preparations for the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (#WUF13Azerbaijan), which will be held in Baku in May," Guliyev noted.
