The Speaker of the Milli Majlis participated in the opening ceremony of the 152nd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union.

The parliamentary delegation led by Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova, who is on a working visit to Istanbul, took part in the opening ceremony of the 152nd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).

This was reported by the Press and Public Relations Department of the Milli Majlis.

At the event, Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye Numan Kurtulmuş, IPU President Tulia Ackson, IPU Secretary General Martin Chungong, and UN Coordinator Babatunde Ahonsi delivered speeches, highlighting the relevance of the upcoming discussions and wishing success to the event.

At the Assembly, dedicated to the theme “Strengthening hope, ensuring peace, and safeguarding justice for future generations,” initiatives aimed at further enhancing the role of parliaments in this direction will be discussed, and opportunities for cooperation in this field will be considered.
