The Milli Majlis has ratified the agreement on cooperation in the field of customs between Azerbaijan and Jordan.
According to The Daily Baku, the draft law on the approval of the “Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan on cooperation and mutual assistance in customs matters” was submitted for discussion at today’s plenary session of the parliament’s spring session.
It was noted that the agreement was signed in Baku on November 27, 2025.
Under the agreement, the customs authorities of the contracting parties, within their respective powers, shall provide assistance to each other when they consider such assistance necessary for the proper application of customs legislation, particularly when they obtain information concerning:
a) activities that have violated, are violating, or may violate customs legislation and may be of interest to the other contracting party;
b) goods that are known to be the subject of significant violations of customs legislation in the territory of the other contracting party’s state;
c) goods that violate conventions against the illicit trafficking of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, or their precursors, as well as dangerous and dual use goods that constitute violations of international conventions and resolutions.
Following discussions, the draft law was put to a vote and adopted in the first reading.
