The Jamestown Foundation think tank published article on Azerbaijan

An article on Azerbaijan’s policy in managing the crisis arising amid tensions between Iran, the United States, and Israel has been published in an outlet of The Jamestown Foundation think tank.
The article, authored by Yunis Gurbanov, senior advisor at the Center of Analysis of International Relations, outlines in detail how Azerbaijan’s pragmatic and rational policy, based on national interests, has addressed crisis situations in the context of the Iran–US–Israel conflict.
It notes that amid rising tensions around Iran, Azerbaijan maintained a neutral and balanced position, declaring that its territory would not be used for military operations against Iran, while keeping diplomatic and humanitarian channels active. Through high-level contacts and messages of condolence, the country preserved its relations with Tehran and continued engagement within a crisis management framework.
The article also highlights Azerbaijan’s role in facilitating the safe evacuation of third-country nationals and diplomats of several countries from Iran via its territory, as well as the constructive steps taken under the instruction of President Ilham Aliyev to send humanitarian aid to Iran.
“Official Baku, without entering into an open alliance with any side or escalating tensions, ensured border security, carried out the evacuation of civilians, enabled the safe transit of foreign nationals, and played a functional stabilizing role by delivering humanitarian aid to Iran through controlled border crossings.”
