The French Foreign Ministry has restricted Trump's in-law's contacts with the authorities

French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot ordered that US Ambassador Charles Kushner, father of US President Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner, be blocked from accessing French government buildings and cabinet members after his second failure to appear at the Foreign Ministry.
The American ambassador was summoned to the Foreign Ministry to explain his comments regarding the death of French far-right activist Quentin Derank.
Earlier, the US Embassy reposted comments from the Trump administration on social media criticizing France's handling of the case.
This is the second time Kushner has failed to respond to summonses to the Foreign Ministry, sending his chargé d'affaires in his place. The first summons was related to criticism of France's stance on anti-Semitism. The French Foreign Ministry declared this interference in the country's internal affairs.
"In light of this apparent failure to understand the fundamental demands of the embassy mission, Minister [Barrot] has demanded that he [Kuchner] no longer be granted direct access to members of the French government," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated.
However, Kouchner will continue to be allowed to carry out his diplomatic duties and exchange views with officials, the statement added.
French media are viewing the situation as yet another example of the diplomatic conflict between Paris and Washington.
23-year-old Derank died of head injuries after clashes between supporters of radical left-wing and far-right parties on February 12 in Lyon.
The death of the right-wing radical had previously sparked a barb-bashing exchange between French President Emmanuel Macron and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. Meloni's comments were perceived by Macron as interference in domestic affairs.
