South Korea becomes first country to import oil via Red Sea route.

A crude oil tanker bound for South Korea has successfully used an alternative route via the Red Sea for the first time, bypassing the Strait of Hormuz.
According to The Daily Baku, this was reported by the JoongAng Daily, citing the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries.
This marks the first confirmed use of a detour route amid the effective blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.
The ministry stated that this demonstrates the effectiveness of Seoul’s measures to ensure stable energy supplies from the Middle East amid ongoing tensions around Iran.
Earlier, the South Korean government had said that Seoul would continue to seek alternative routes to the Strait of Hormuz, as vessel traffic through the strait remains blocked.
