Russia sees decline in oil production amid Ukrainian attacks

Russia’s oil production declined in April due to drone strikes by Ukraine targeting ports and oil refineries.
According to “The Daily Baku”, citing Reuters sources, Russia produced 300,000–400,000 barrels per day less oil in April compared to the average level at the beginning of the year.
Sources noted that this could be the sharpest monthly decline in the past six years, since the period of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The drop in production was also influenced by the suspension of the Druzhba oil pipeline, which until recently had been the only route for Russian oil exports to Europe.
“It will be difficult to sell oil without reducing production amid ongoing attacks on Russian ports and refineries, especially considering the upcoming spring maintenance shutdowns,” the report said.
