Prospects for developing cooperation between Azerbaijan and the US private sector have been discussed.
The Daily Baku reports that this was stated during a meeting between Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and a delegation led by Kush Choksi, Senior Vice President of the US Chamber of Commerce.
It was noted that during the meeting, attended by executives and representatives of 31 companies, the sides discussed steps taken toward establishing strategic partnership relations between Azerbaijan and the United States, the current state of bilateral cooperation, plans and prospects in areas such as energy, trade, transport, logistics, regional connectivity including the TRIPP route, as well as economic investment in a number of key sectors.
At the same time, bilateral contacts and discussions held separately in the mentioned areas following the Washington Peace Summit on August 8 last year, aimed at preparing the Strategic Partnership Charter, were highly appreciated, and it was emphasized that the signing of the Charter would give additional impetus to relations.
In addition, the meeting included an exchange of views on Azerbaijan’s important role in the region’s energy security, the significance of developing renewable energy resources, diversification of trade routes within the Middle Corridor, the favorable business and investment environment in Azerbaijan and opportunities for establishing new partnerships, as well as other issues of mutual interest.
