The Polish government has signed contracts worth 120 billion zlotys (more than €28 billion) with the country's defence companies under the European Union's SAFE programme aimed at financing rearmament.
According to the PAP news agency, nearly half of the amount will be allocated to the Polish defence company Huta Stalowa Wola.
The SAFE programme provides Poland with loans worth approximately €43.7 billion, which can be used to purchase defence equipment from domestic companies as well as foreign partners.
