Hungary’s new prime minister Péter Magyar has proposed introducing a two-term limit for holding the office of head of government.
He made the statement at a press conference in Budapest, emphasizing that соответствующие amendments will be made to the country’s Constitution.
“We will introduce a two-term limit (for the prime minister), which will mean 8 years in office in Hungary,” he said.
In addition, Péter Magyar announced his intention for Hungary to join the European Public Prosecutor's Office, noting that this is necessary to unblock EU funding. According to him, this concerns approximately 20 billion euros, which he said is crucial for the country’s economic growth.
