Pashinyan calls peace with Azerbaijan a guarantee of Armenia’s security

Establishing peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia is the most reliable guarantee for the country’s security, said Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in his address to the public on the occasion of Army Day, The Daily Baku reports.

"Peace has been established between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan, and there is no more reliable guarantee of security than peace," Pashinyan emphasized. The Prime Minister also noted that the practical weakening of Armenia’s relations with the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) has opened up new opportunities for the country. According to him, until 2022, international partners refused to sell weapons to Armenia because they feared that these weapons could be taken out of the country or come under CSTO control.

“This obstacle no longer exists,” Pashinyan said.

He added that Armenia will continue its efforts to strengthen its armed forces.
