So far, only one of our citizens has been injured, said Aykhan Hajizada, Head of the Press Service Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in response to an inquiry regarding the situation of Azerbaijani citizens amid the military escalation in the region, The Daily Baku reports.
It was noted that, in line with the crisis situation, Azerbaijan’s embassies and consulates general in the region are continuing their operations under an enhanced working regime.“In accordance with the requests received from our citizens, our diplomatic missions are providing the necessary assistance. So far, only one of our citizens has been injured. Appropriate support is being provided to the citizen by our diplomatic mission, and his condition is good.
As for the evacuation of our citizens, at this stage, in line with the travel advisory issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Azerbaijani citizens currently in Iran are leaving the country via the land borders of Azerbaijan and Türkiye, depending on their location. So far, 30 of our citizens have crossed the Azerbaijan border.
Taking into account that the airspace in the region is closed, evacuation by air is not currently envisaged.
Citizens currently in the region are requested to closely monitor the security situation, follow the instructions and recommendations of local authorities, avoid crowded places, and strengthen their personal safety measures.”
