Official Astana: Kazakhstan does not support any side in the Middle East crisis

Kazakhstan adheres to a policy of neutrality and does not take sides in the conflict in the Middle East.
"The Daily Baku" reports, citing Kazakh media, that this was stated by Deputy Foreign Minister Alibek Bakayev.
“Kazakhstan’s position is non interference in the internal affairs of third states and it will maintain this stance. Therefore, in this case we do not take the side of anyone – neither Iran nor the countries that have been subjected to attack. We want such conflicts, especially military conflicts, not to occur. If conflicts arise, they should be resolved at the negotiating table through diplomacy,” Bakayev said.
According to him, official Astana consistently supports the settlement of such conflicts strictly within the framework of international law and in accordance with the UN Charter.
