Next epizootological monitoring for avian influenza to be conducted in Azerbaijan

The next epizootological monitoring aimed at preventing avian influenza will be carried out in Azerbaijan on May 18–22.
The information was provided by the Azerbaijan Food Safety Agency (AQTA).
According to the agency, during the monitoring, inspections will be conducted in wetlands, coastal areas, and other territories of hunting farms and national parks identified based on risk assessment, as well as among wild birds. For the purpose of detecting the disease pathogen, wild birds will be captured, and diagnostic samples will be collected from poultry in various industrial-scale farms, as well as from domestic birds kept in family households across different regions and cities.
Additionally, general inspections will be carried out in enterprises, farms, water bodies, and parks across the country. Awareness-raising measures will be implemented to ensure compliance with veterinary norms and regulations, while epizootological data will be collected and analyzed.
