Musk: The US can't overtake China in high technology without innovation

China will lead in high technology unless the US makes a major breakthrough.

According to The Daily Baku, citing foreign media, entrepreneur Elon Musk stated this.

The billionaire was asked whether Washington expects "Chinese dominance" in AI, electric vehicle production, and humanoid robots unless the US performs a miracle in the next few years. "In the absence of breakthrough innovation in the US, China will completely dominate," Musk responded.

"We certainly can't win on human resources alone; China has four times the population of ours," the entrepreneur noted, lamenting the fact that the US has "long-standing low birth rates." "But it's not just that we have four times the population; [in China] people do more work. China has a higher productivity rate per person," Musk added.

He also noted Beijing's leading position in rare earth metal mining.
