Moscow accuses Ukraine of violating Victory Day ceasefire

Russia’s Defense Ministry has accused Ukraine of violating the ceasefire declared for Victory Day and warned that attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces would not go unanswered.
Russian media reported the statement citing the ministry.
“Despite the announcement of the ceasefire regime, Ukrainian armed formations continued to carry out drone and artillery strikes on the positions of our troops, as well as civilian facilities in the border areas of the Belgorod and Kursk regions,” the statement said.
According to the ministry, the ceasefire regime was violated 1,365 times in total.
“In these conditions, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation responded symmetrically to violations of the ceasefire. Retaliatory strikes were carried out against firing positions of multiple launch rocket systems, artillery, and mortars. Command posts and drone launch sites were destroyed,” the Russian Defense Ministry said.
