Money transfers from Georgia abroad reach $420 mln in 2025

In 2025, the volume of money transfers from Georgia to foreign countries reached $420.45 million, increasing by 11.2% compared to 2024.
This was reported by Report’s Georgian bureau, citing the National Bank of Georgia.
The largest amounts were transferred to Türkiye ($78.9 million), Azerbaijan ($66 million), and Russia ($48 million).
Preliminary data for 2026 also indicate continued growth. In February, $32.9 million was transferred from Georgia — about $4 million more than in February last year. The main recipients were again Azerbaijan, Türkiye, and Russia.
The volume of transfers into Georgia totaled $3.649 billion in 2025, while in February 2026 it amounted to $295 million.
Experts attribute the growth in money transfers to expanding economic ties between countries in the region and the activity of citizens working abroad.
