MFA: Measures being taken to ensure return of citizens injured in Sea of Azov vessel strikes to Azerbaijan

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan has released information on the condition of Azerbaijani citizens injured as a result of the strikes on vessels in the Sea of Azov, APA reports.
Immediately after receiving news that Azerbaijani citizens had been killed and injured in the drone attack carried out against cargo vessels in the Sea of Azov on June 5, employees of Azerbaijan’s Embassy in the Russian Federation promptly departed for the area:
“Employees of the Consular Section of the Embassy are currently in the city of Yeysk and are providing the necessary consular support to the injured and rescued Azerbaijani citizens. The condition of the injured is good, and several of them are expected to be discharged from the hospital shortly.
Within the framework of search and rescue operations carried out by the relevant authorities of the Russian Federation, efforts to identify the deceased and undertake other necessary measures are ongoing.
At the same time, necessary measures are being taken to carry out documentation work for the rescued Azerbaijani citizens, provide them with return certificates, and organize their return to the country.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is keeping the matter under special control and is conducting close coordination with the relevant authorities.
Additional information will be provided to the public regarding the identities of the deceased and the transportation of their bodies to our country.”
