Azerbaijan's national minifootball team crowned European champions

The Azerbaijan national minifootball team has won the European Championship held in Slovakia.

The team, led by head coach Elshad Guliyev, defeated Ukraine in the final.

The match, played at the Tipos Arena, ended 2–0 in favor of Azerbaijan.

Goals were scored by Mirmahdi Rzayev and Isa Atayev.

With this victory, Azerbaijan's minifootball team became two-time European champions, having previously won the title in 2022.

On the previous day, Azerbaijan defeated Serbia in the semifinal via a penalty shootout after a 1–1 draw in regular time, winning 3–1 on penalties. In the group stage (Group F), the team beat Austria (1–0), Italy (3–0), and France (3–2), before overcoming Kazakhstan (3–2) in the Round of 16 and Czechia (5–2) in the quarterfinals.
