A meeting between students and a delegation from Pakistan was held at the Azerbaijan University of Languages in Baku, The Daily Baku reports.
The event took place at the Pakistan Cultural Center and brought together students interested in Pakistani language and culture. The delegation included Parliamentary Secretary of Pakistan’s Ministry of Human Rights Saba Sadiq and Secretary of the Ministry Abdul Khalique Shaikh.
Speaking at the meeting, Abdul Khalique Shaikh expressed satisfaction with the opportunity to visit the centre and engage with students. He emphasised the importance of creating opportunities for young people to learn about different cultures, broaden their perspectives, and develop both academically and personally.
He noted that such initiatives are supported by Pakistan, including in the field of human rights, adding that particular attention is given to the protection of children and the creation of conditions for their well-being and development.
“It is a great honour for us to be here and meet you. We believe it is important that issues related to child protection remain in focus, including at the parliamentary level,” he said.
Saba Sadiq, in turn, said that Pakistan is making efforts to contribute to resolving tensions in the Middle East. According to her, steps have been taken to bring opposing sides to the negotiating table with support from various countries.
“We have worked to ensure that the parties sit at the negotiating table. Talks were held, but a final agreement has not yet been reached,” she said.
She added that the ongoing process, including with the participation of the United States, may lead to concrete results, stressing that Pakistan seeks a peaceful resolution to conflicts in the region.
