Maka Bochorishvili: Georgia’s European integration is a historic choice

Georgia’s path towards European integration is irreversible and represents a historic choice, the country’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Maka Bochorishvili, has said.
Speaking at the Delphi Economic Forum during a session titled “Safeguarding through enlargement: security as a new pillar of membership”, she stressed that Georgia’s European course remains unchanged.
“This path is part of our identity and a historic choice,” Bochorishvili said.
She noted that the European Union’s enlargement should not be viewed solely as a bureaucratic process, but rather within a broader geopolitical context, serving as a tool to strengthen collective security.
Bochorishvili also highlighted the security challenges facing Georgia, including ongoing occupation issues, and said that despite a difficult geopolitical environment, the country has managed to maintain stability and continue its development.
