The Lebanese government has demanded that the Hezbollah group hand over its weapons and has banned it from conducting military operations.
The Daily Baku reports, citing Al Jazeera, that Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam has firmly rejected any military operations carried out from the territory of Beirut.
“We prohibit Hezbollah from engaging in military activities and limit its role to the political sphere. We call on the military institutions to ensure the implementation of this decision,” Salam said.
The prime minister also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the 2024 ceasefire agreement reached with Israel and to the resumption of negotiations.
