Kyrgyzstan and Turkey plan to expand their visa-free regime from 90 to 180 days.
This was announced during a meeting between Parliament Speaker Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu and Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly Numan Kurtulmuş in Ankara.
The parties discussed strengthening political, economic, cultural, and humanitarian cooperation, focusing on expanding parliamentary interaction. Turgunbek uulu noted the need to continue dialogue at the level of relevant committees and friendship groups.
He emphasized that last year's visit of the Turkish delegation to Kyrgyzstan took parliamentary ties to a new level and expressed confidence that the current meeting will provide impetus for the further development of cooperation, including regular joint events and the use of international platforms such as TURKPA.
The parties also discussed economic ties, including the goal of increasing bilateral trade to $5 billion, and improving the investment climate in Kyrgyzstan by inviting Turkish investors to invest in priority sectors: energy, mining, and manufacturing.
Among the initiatives proposed was expanding the visa-free regime between the countries from 90 to 180 days.
