Kavelashvili: Georgia presents a clear strategic approach to environmental issues

Georgia presents a clear strategic approach based on effective environmental management and the principles of sustainable development.
This was stated by the country’s President, Mikheil Kavelashvili, during his speech at the plenary session of the regional environmental summit held in Astana.
According to him, environmental protection is no longer merely a subject of political discussions, but also has a direct impact on countries’ economies, societies, and the daily lives of citizens.
M. Kavelashvili emphasized that strengthening environmental governance, developing climate policy, and promoting green, inclusive economic growth are key components of Georgia’s national strategic documents.
The President noted that challenges such as climate change, water security, biodiversity loss, and environmental pollution are closely interconnected and have a serious impact on both societal resilience and economic stability.
