Italian official strongly condemns drone attack on Nakhchivan

I strongly condemn the drone attack against Nakhchivan Airport on the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The Daily Baku reports that the statement was made by Italy’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Edmondo Cirielli.

The Italian official noted that two people were injured and civilian infrastructure was damaged as a result of the attack. “I express my full solidarity with the Government and the people of Azerbaijan over this very serious incident. Targeting civilian infrastructure is unacceptable, irresponsible and criminal. In addition to the series of terrorist attacks Iran has carried out in the Gulf and across the region in recent days, this represents the deliberate use of missiles and drones against infrastructure and civilians in blatant disregard for all norms of international law,” he said.
