Italian ambassador to Tehran summoned to Iranian Foreign Ministry over Sepah

The Italian Ambassador to Tehran, Paola Amadei, has been summoned to the Iranian Foreign Ministry.
"The Daily Baku" reports that Iranian media outlets have reported on this.
The reason for this is the statement of Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani regarding the inclusion of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in the list of terrorist organizations.
During the meeting, Alireza Youssef, Head of the Western European Department of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, called the position of the Italian Foreign Minister "irresponsible".
He said that the IRGC is an integral part of the Iranian Armed Forces and warned that attempts against the organization would have dangerous consequences.
The Iranian side called on the Italian government to change its "unthinkable approach" towards Tehran. Official Tehran once again emphasized that it considers the initiatives to recognize the IRGC as a terrorist organization unacceptable.
On January 26, Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani announced that his country planned to raise the issue of recognizing the IRGC as a terrorist organization at the European Union level.
