Israel army on full alert amid tensions with Iran

The Israel Defense Forces have been placed on full combat alert amid the possibility of renewed military operations against Iran, according to reports citing a military source.
Israeli media outlet Ynet reported that Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir, ordered troops to shift to a combat protocol similar to that used ahead of previous rounds of confrontation with Iran. The measures involve maintaining heightened readiness across all units and formations.
The directive follows a reported deadlock in talks between representatives of United States and Iran held in Islamabad, and reflects preparations for a possible resumption of military confrontation in the near future.
On February 28, the United States and Israel launched military operations against Iran, carrying out airstrikes on several cities. According to earlier reports, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was killed in the strikes.
In response, Iran launched missile attacks on Israeli territory and targeted US military bases in Gulf countries.
A two-week ceasefire was agreed overnight on April 8, involving Iran, the United States and their allies. Follow-up talks between Iran and the US, mediated by Pakistan, were held in Islamabad on April 11–12 but reportedly failed to produce a breakthrough.
