Iran and the United States are discussing the inclusion of a provision in a potential agreement to end the war that would see the deal reinforced through a resolution of the United Nations Security Council.
According to Mehr News Agency, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei made the remarks during a briefing.
“We are still discussing the general provisions. These 14 points only outline the main elements. Among them is a provision stating that if an agreement is reached, it should take the form of a UN Security Council resolution so that it has legal protection,” he said.
Baghaei also noted that a ceasefire in Lebanon is an integral part of any agreement aimed at ending the war.
