Information Provided on Hybrid Attacks Against Azerbaijan at the OSCE PA Session

A special debate was held at the winter session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly (PA), currently taking place in Vienna, on the issue of hybrid attacks against state sovereignty and interference in internal affairs.
According to The Daily Baku, presentations were delivered at the session by European Commissioner Michael McGrath, Rapporteur of the OSCE PA Committee on Human Rights, Democracy and Humanitarian Questions Carina Ödebrink, Director of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights Maria Telalian, and OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media Ambassador Jan Braathu. The speakers noted that hybrid attacks using cyber tools have become widespread. EU Commissioner McGrath provided information about the practice of organizing hybrid attacks from abroad against politicians and their family members in order to influence their will, emphasizing the importance of combating such cases.
Members of the Assembly then delivered their remarks. During the discussion, views were exchanged on foreign interference in states’ elections and internal political processes, as well as the spread of disinformation and “deepfake” graphic content using artificial intelligence.
During the discussions, Head of the Azerbaijani delegation to the Milli Majlis, Qaya Mammadov, also provided information about hybrid attacks against Azerbaijan.
