The Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) has conducted fire safety drills at venues with large public gatherings in Baku, including hotels, as part of preparations for the 13th Session of the UN World Urban Forum (WUF13) to be held in the Azerbaijani capital.
The information was released by the MES.
According to the ministry, the drills involved personnel and equipment from the State Fire Protection Service, the State Fire Control Service, and the Special Risk Rescue Service of the MES.
The purpose of the exercises was to educate staff on emergency response procedures, including fire safety rules, as well as to improve the practical skills of rescue teams in оперативely eliminating the consequences of potential emergencies at such facilities.
During the drills, an alarm signal was activated following a simulated fire. MES forces promptly arrived at the scene and began firefighting operations. In line with the evacuation plan of the hotel where the mock fire occurred, rescuers evacuated victims to a safe area and provided “first aid” to those who were conditionally injured.
