Hakan Fidan: Türkiye expects Trump to attend NATO summit in Ankara

The NATO summit scheduled to take place in Ankara in July could become one of the most significant in the Alliance’s history.

This was stated by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan in a broadcast by Anadolu Agency.

According to him, Türkiye is preparing for the event at the highest level.

Fidan also noted that Türkiye expects the participation of U.S. President Donald Trump. “Trump respects President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and we believe his visit is possible,” he emphasized.

The minister added that NATO countries should use the summit as an opportunity to develop a more systematic approach to current issues.

It should be noted that the summit is scheduled for July 7–8.
