Green energy corridors position the Turkic world as a new global power axis

Green energy corridors emerging along the Azerbaijan–Nakhchivan, Türkiye–Europe–Azerbaijan and Türkiye–Georgia–Bulgaria routes are elevating the geopolitical, geostrategic and geo-economic standing of the Turkic world, according to Turkish political analyst Ismail Cingoz.
Speaking to The Daily Baku, Mr Cingoz said that strengthening Türkiye’s role as a hub for energy transmission and storage carries strategic importance for Azerbaijan, Türkiye and the wider Turkic world.
He noted that transporting energy potential to regional and European markets via Azerbaijan and Türkiye within the framework of green transition policies reinforces Türkiye’s position as a key energy transit and storage centre.
“This once again demonstrates that Türkiye, Azerbaijan and the Turkic world possess the capacity and potential to significantly advance their geopolitical, geostrategic and geo-economic objectives,” he said.
Mr Cingoz added that Anatolia and the Caucasus have historically occupied a central position in geopolitical and geo-economic terms, a trend he said is becoming more pronounced in the modern era.
“As a new world system is being constructed along the Beijing–London axis, it is no coincidence that the Turkic world, the Caucasus and Anatolia are emerging as strategically indispensable regions,” he said.
According to the analyst, Azerbaijan and Türkiye are acting as driving forces behind the emergence of the Turkic world as a third pole in a changing global order.
He argued that Türkiye’s growing role in green energy will further enhance Ankara’s political and strategic weight in Europe’s energy security and climate agenda.
Mr Cingoz also warned that instability in the Turkic world could have global repercussions.
“Any tension or conflict in this geography could lead to serious disruptions in global energy and trade systems,” he said, adding that the security of the Turkic States should be viewed as a factor contributing to global stability.
He concluded that active participation in the green energy transition is transforming Türkiye into a regional energy hub, a role that should be extended to the entire Turkic world.
