French President welcomes Israel–Lebanon ceasefire.

French President Emmanuel Macron has welcomed the ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon and noted the role of the United States in the process.

According to The Daily Baku, he wrote this on his X account.

“I fully support the ceasefire between Hezbollah and Israel. At the same time, I express concern that it could be violated due to ongoing military operations. I call for ensuring the safety of civilians on both sides of the Lebanon–Israel border. Hezbollah must lay down its arms, and Israel must respect Lebanon’s sovereignty and end the war,” Macron wrote.

It should be recalled that on April 16, U.S. President Donald Trump announced that Israel and Lebanon had agreed to a 10-day ceasefire starting at 5:00 PM Eastern Time
