French Foreign Ministry appeals to prosecutors over diplomat's ties to Epstein

French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot has requested that the prosecutor's office investigate a French diplomat whose name was discovered by media outlets in the US Department of Justice files related to the Jeffrey Epstein case.
According to The Daily Baku, the minister announced this on the social media platform X.
"This evening, I am submitting a request to the Prosecutor General's Office to inform him of the alleged facts concerning Mr. Fabrice Edan. I am also initiating an administrative investigation to facilitate the functioning of the justice system and initiating disciplinary proceedings," he wrote.
According to the attached text of the request, Edan holds the position of Principal Secretary for Foreign Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He is "on reserve for personal reasons and is working in the private sector."
