Expert: Establishing artificial intelligence data centers carries strategic importance for Azerbaijan’s technological development

The establishment of artificial intelligence data centers carries strategic importance for Azerbaijan’s technological development.
This was stated by Rashad Aliyev, an expert at the Azerbaijan Cybersecurity Organizations Association, in a comment to The Daily Baku.
According to him, there are currently high-tech equipment types in the world whose sale and export are carried out only with special state-level permits. In particular, bringing artificial intelligence based supercomputers equipped with specialized chips into the country opens up broad opportunities. These technologies make it possible to develop artificial intelligence models, process large volumes of data, and conduct analytical simulations.
The expert noted that the creation of such infrastructure could also play an important role in the field of cybersecurity.
Artificial intelligence based systems become effective tools for modeling defense mechanisms, testing potential threats in advance, and conducting various simulation tests. This serves to increase the level of security for both government institutions and the private sector.
Rashad Aliyev emphasized that the global leadership position of the United States in the technology sector is undeniable, and cooperation in this direction is of particular importance. The exchange of experience and knowledge with the United States could contribute to the development of existing human capital in the country, the training of new specialists, and the formation of innovative approaches. This process could also accelerate the emergence of new technological products and startups.
In his view, systematic support for the development of new products and startups is essential for the formation of a sustainable technological ecosystem. Expanding access to the American market, joint projects, and the exchange of ideas and information between companies could lead to the creation of stronger, more competitive, and long-term result-oriented products.
The expert added that such cooperation would make an important contribution to more effective management of future risks that may arise in the fields of technology and cybersecurity, as well as to the preparation of scientifically grounded recommendations for strategic decision-making.
