Erdoğan has appointed the President of COP31

The President of the 31st session of the Conference of the Parties (COP31) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, which will be held in Türkiye next year, has been appointed, The Daily Baku reports, citing TRT Haber.

The decision of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Türkiye’s Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, Murat Kurum, has been appointed President of COP31.

It should be noted that the COP31 conference will be held in Antalya from 9–20 November 2026.

Azerbaijan hosted the 29th session (COP29) of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, while Brazil hosted the 30th session.
