The Embassy of Spain in Tehran has resumed its operations.

This was announced by the diplomatic mission’s press service on its account on X.

“Ambassador Antonio Sánchez-Benedito Gaspar, together with the diplomatic team and local staff, is resuming work with a commitment to supporting peace,” the mission said.

Spain’s Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares had announced on April 9 the intention to reopen the embassy in Tehran.

The decision was made following the ceasefire announced by Donald Trump. Spanish diplomats had been evacuated from the Iranian capital after the United States and Israel launched military operations.
