Death toll from China fireworks factory blast rises to 37

The death toll from an explosion at a fireworks factory in China has risen to 37.

The explosion occurred at a fireworks manufacturing plant in Hunan Province in central China.

According to Xinhua news agency, citing local authorities, one person remains missing and 51 others were injured. Search and rescue operations at the scene have been largely completed.

The blast took place on Monday in a workshop of the “Huasheng” company, which specializes in fireworks production.
